The Inspirational Story of Steve Schwarzman
Stephen A. Schwarzman’s story is one of success and a strong work ethic. Last year Steve placed number 53 on the list of America’s most wealthy individuals, but it’s his incredible achievements in the business and finance sector and also his generosity to the arts which make this story so awesome. His life has motivated multitudes of individuals globally and in addition he has used his money to better many people’s lives as well.
In 1985 Steve and his business partner established their company extending financial advice to the American public. As everyone knows, the Blackstone Group is now one of America’s most profitable M&A companies. After calling the Philadelphia suburban area home for much of his young life, Stephen A. Schwarzman attended high school in the School District of Abington. He graduated from Abington Senior High School; his next step was to get his bachelor’s degree from Yale University in 1969. Harvard Business School was the next stop on his road to success, here he received his Master’s degree in Business Administration in 1972. Next he became part of the team at Lehman Brothers. Stephen was appointed to the board of directors at the age of thirty one.
Steve doesn’t simply offer his time and money to a wide range of not for profit organizations, but additionally he has also been a non-faculty professor at Yale. He is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in New York. And, to give back even more, he told the media on March 11, 2008 that he had contributed $100 million to the New York Public Library to support their construction plan. Steve is also one of the trustees of the library. It is hardly surprising that Steve Schwarzman is accepted as one of America’s elite — he was mentioned amongst Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People on earth in acknowledgement of his many achievements. His supremacy in the financial industry has unquestionably been amazing, not to mention the fact that his support of the arts and educational programs has undoubtedly been an inspiration to those around him. It would seem that at present, Steve Schwarzman has it all. To summarize, Steve has taken advantage of each and every business opportunity that came his way, but in return he has equally used his status as a means to better the lives of those around him.
