Hand Analysis: 2-Six

Posted in Fun Stuff, Lucky Gambling at 11:13 am by admin

I think it’s difficult to look down and find a hand worse than 2 6 in the hole. Even 2 7 has the mystique of being known as ‘the worst hand in poker,’ whereas 2 6 is just two of the crappiest cards around melded together into one. Yes, 2 6 has a slight advantage in a large ring over the 2 7 in that it possible to make a straight, though the slim chance of flopping exactly 3 4 5 is mostly negligible, and even then you haven’t made the nuts. People raising or calling raises with the 2 6 suited or unsuited are either crazy or wildly aggressive to a fault, or just don’t know how to spell online poker, in the parlance of Phil Hellmuth. I bet it would feel pretty amazing to beat Hellmuth with this hand though. That might be a dream come true. For heaven’s sake, though, people, even the wildest of men have to draw the line somewhere. I’d say we start by drawing the line with the 2 6. It’s just a bigger bruise than even the gnarliest online poker bruiser seems to need to be splashing around with. You’ve got to muck one now and again. Save your crazy money for the 2 4 or even the 7 2, so you can at least say you won with the worst of all.

The Elottery System Assures a Lotto Prize to Each Participant Participating in the Spanish El Gordo Lottery

Posted in Fun Stuff at 7:46 am by admin

The El Gordo Loteria is part of the Euromillions Euro lottery, but if you don’t know anymore than that you definitely need to find out more. This lottery is renowned for jackpots that are among the world’s richest - payouts as high as more than two and a half billion Euros. Nor is this the lottery’s only claim to fame. With more than thirteen thousand prizes being offered, your odds of winning something mean that there will be one winner in every six tickets. When compared with prizes featured by other lotteries, you’ve got to hand it to them that El Gordo’s offerings are really pretty good.

There is one draw each month in the Euromillions Euro lotto. But three months a year boast bigger draws for grander prizes. These include January’s “El Nio”, the summer “San Ildefonso”, and held around Christmas, “Elgordo” with Christmas’s draw being the largest of the lot.

In an atypical approach to draws, the balls required by the Elgordo lottery draw have five digits on each, these numbers ranging from 00,000 to 84,999. One ball apiece is drawn from two bowls; the first bowl indicates the winner, the second what the ticket is worth.

To enter the draw, one choice is a full ticket, called a “serie”. There is also a cheaper option; called a “d©cimo” worth one tenth of a full ticket. Neither alternative is especially cheap, though, and equally neither has better odds of being a winner. As a result many people playing the El Gordo lottery take advantage of the e-lottery system.

This system guarantees a prize for every participant. All you do is buy into the Euromillions Euro Lotto syndicate and they’ll sort you into teams. These teams are assigned an identifying number from zero to nine, the last digit of the winning number in the draw being used to identify the team that wins the money. Each member will receive their share of the money. In time for next month’s draw, the syndicate offers subscriptions once again to continue the e-lottery.

Some people feel concerned on hearing that they would have to share these big payouts. What you need to keep in mind is that when the amount being divided is 2.6 billion Euros, a share is still a substantial return. You’ll find the syndicate e-lottery program is far more affordable, and with the knowledge that you’ll share in a prize every month, there are no worries about losing all the time. E-lottery is the best strategy.

Isolation Raising

Posted in Fun Stuff, Lucky Gambling at 9:07 am by admin

Often times, in the duration of a poker hand, there will come a point that you face aggression from a player acting ahead of you at the casino, with players left behind you also left to act. In these situations, the presence of the later players can be just as important to attend to as the already present action: in other words, acting in a way that may affect the players who come after you is something any online poker player must be mindful of.

This truth becomes even more obvious when in situations where you hold a hand that you may or may not want to allow further action with. A hand that is strong heads up, but not so much against several players, requires protection (unless you are willing to gamble with the possibility it could be beat in the mind of making more if you flop really big).

Isolation raising, then, is the act of reraising a bet already in front of you in order to get hands that might have come into the pot for the first bet, to lay down and let you play heads up.

A great example of this would be: say you are facing an early position raiser, who has gone all in for 4x time the BB. You find pocket jacks. Do you want to just call the original bet, and see if someone else comes into the pot? Or do you want to raise and make sure those players with hands like medium aces don’t come along, trying to break the all in player.

Most would say, with moderate hands, that raising is vital, while with hands like AA you might be interested in dragging some others along (though buyer beware!).

Bluffing the End Zone

Posted in Fun Stuff, Lucky Gambling at 4:27 pm by admin

Betting is the only way to win at poker, and smart players leverage their casino betting action to build and win pots. Aggressive poker players are likely to raise with a good starter hand, like AK or a suited Ace, to chase away casual callers and steal a pot early. But when their bet is called, then anything can happen after the flop. Sometimes the right cards come to pair the Ace or King, completing a powerful hand. Maybe two cards to the suit materialize for a good draw.

But sometimes the board misses it entirely, then the original raiser is still on a draw and enmeshed in live action. Since the original raise was called, one has to assume your opponent has something strong too. It’s possible that player is also holding an Ace and did not connect with the board. You can check, then fold if your opponent continues to bet.

If the hand unfolds with checking right to the river, many players feel the only way to win the pot is to bet - basically a desperation tactic. The is bluffing at its most basic, and should be used sparingly. Making the desperation bet with nothing at the river is risky business. If your opponent calls, you know you are probably beat and just wasted some chips. A desperation bet will only work if you have cultivated a very tight image and are up against a similarly tight player.

The Origins of Poker

Posted in Fun Stuff, Lucky Gambling at 2:50 pm by admin

The modern version of poker played with a 52 card deck can only be accurately traced back until the American Civil War. During this time the hand rankings were standardized, as well as the number of decks that are used in game play.

The history of poker prior to the American Civil War is a matter of debate because there is very little hard evidence. Up until recently, the prevalent opinion was that modern poker had its roots in the Persian game “As Nas”. In “As Nas”, as in modern poker, each player holds five cards in their hand that are assembled in standardized hand rankings.

Recently, poker historians have challenged the view that modern poker is a direct descendant of “As Nas”. Some historians feel that modern poker is closer to the French game “Pochen” that was popular in the early part of the 18th century. A main feature of “Pochen” is the player’s ability to intentionally mislead others about the value of the cards in their hand. The view that “Pochen” is the historical root of poker is popular among players who feel that bluffing is the most important component of the game.

< Poker was carried into North America by riverboats along the Mississippi that featured gambling rooms. As the game became more popular among travelers it slowly made its way into the saloons on the banks of the river. It rapidly became established as a permanent feature in saloons and gambling houses across the nation. During the 21st century, poker experienced a significant leap in popularity due to the widespread use of online poker and video poker games. In addition, high profile poker tournament are now broadcasted on national television to enormous audiences. Poker en ligne is a translation of poker online.
